It’s one of the first things we think about when we’ve decided to start our own business.
- Business name? Check.
- A brand logo? Check.
And now we’re in business, right? Wrong. While there are several more steps to launch your biz and become a legit small business, I always like to start with logo design and branding. One, because it’s fun and pretty to look at. But also two, because we need to make sure someone isn’t already using it or doing it.
As a graphic designer myself I could teach an entire series on logo design and branding (and I kind of do in my Launch Your Biz ecourse), but I wanted to bring in a brand logo expert to help talk us through why a brand is more than a logo.
Megan Powell, owner of Little Dot Creative, joined in for my latest YouTube series “What I Wish I’d Known” to talk all things small business branding. More specifically, new business logo design and branding.
The key takeaways from our interview are:
- A brand is more than a logo
- Branding includes every touch point your customer has with your business
- Choosing colors for your brand logo
- Brands are never set in stone
