If you have your ear even a little to the ground about how to market your small business, then you’ve probably heard over and over again the past 12-18 months that video marketing is the future. Social media algorithms are changing to show videos more than static content and platforms are making it easier to consume video marketing.
But if you’re like so many fellow creatives out there, being in front of the camera isn’t your thing. You don’t want to do video marketing because you don’t think you “look good” or you “don’t have the right equipment” or “the right environment.”
My latest Launch Your Biz guest, Anesha Collins of Unashamed Imaging, says throw all those excuses out the window! If you’re wondering how to do video marketing, the best advice is to just get started! Believe it or not, consumers just want to see and hear from you. So whether you’re in your kitchen right after the kids went off to school or you’re in a fancy studio with all the lighting, that’s the best time to hit record or Go Live!
But what do you even say?!
It’s always good to have a strategy in place. This is for your business after all, not a personal diary. You can make a tie-in back to your business in a quick 30 second video just as easily as you can in a 30 minute video. How to do video marketing for your small business should factor in a few things:
- Does it tell a story?
- How does your video appeal to your audience?
- Does it position you as an expert at your craft?
