Rainy wedding days usually have bad emotions tied to them. Not with this wedding. And that’s 100% because this couple, and their super fun families, know how to throw a party regardless of the weather.
I met Melissa while I was out at the Sweet South French Country Market earlier this Spring. Right away I knew I’d love her and would have a great time capturing her wedding.
She is a beautiful, sophisticated and classy woman with a big laugh, who loves having a good time. Her daughters served as her bridesmaids, and her son walked her down the aisle.
Shawn is definitely the quieter of the two but once he’s warmed up, you’ll see him cutting it up on the dance floor. The weather looked like it was going to hold for us, giving us lovely overcast light for family photos prior to the lakeside wedding ceremony. But just as Melissa began walking down the aisle, it started to sprinkle.
And right before they exchanged vows, the skies opened, the downpour started and everyone hurried inside. They finished exchanging their vows in the intimate confines of the Centerville Conversation Lake House, tucked in amongst friends and family who all served as witnesses.
Once the “I do”s were exchanged, the dancing started. And let me tell you – these people can dance, especially in the rain! This intimate, rainy Tallahassee wedding was one for the books!
