Rainbow Baby Maternity Photo Session

What an honor it was to photograph this rainbow baby maternity photo session. What made it extra special was the fact that this is my brother and his beautiful wife. And my nephew, Otto, was welcomed into this world last week! Which means I’m officially Aunt Mimi (family nickname)! Can’t wait to give baby Otto all the snuggles when I meet him in December.

We’ve seen the colorful maternity sessions for rainbow babies, using smoke bombs or ribbons or you name it. But that isn’t everyone’s style. Sometimes simpler is best and that’s more in line with Cayla’s style. But of course their first baby, their beloved dog Blue, had to be included! He’s such a good boy, and quite the charmer. Both on and off camera during this Rainbow Baby Maternity Photo Session.

October was a beautiful time of year in Indiana for outdoor photos anyway. The golden hour light is perfection. The trees on still green but the grasses are fading to match ripe wheat. The goldenrod and dandelions make a perfect backdrop too.
