Diana and Tyler | Maclay Gardens Wedding

I love photographing all the details as much as I love photographing the people at weddings. But when a couple says they really want to focus on portraits of them and their guests, I can feel their love more deeply. Diana and Tyler’s Maclay Gardens wedding was filled with photos of the happy couple in their favorite spots around the park. 

Intimate Garden Wedding Photography 

This wasn’t my first time photographing a wedding at Tallahassee’s Maclay Gardens. In fact, I’d organized and photographed a styled shoot there years ago right after moving here. So this place has special memories for me. 

When I arrived at Diana and Tyler’s Maclay Gardens wedding, they had rented the Lakeside Pavilion. They, and their few close family and friends, overlooked the lake as the couple exchanged vows.

It was a gorgeous day. The light was perfect for their mid-morning ceremony. I love mid-morning and early afternoon light as much, and dare as say maybe more, than golden hour sunset light. Gasp! I know! But look at this intimate garden wedding photography and I think you’ll agree.

The gorgeous landscaping at Maclay Gardens reminds me of my time visiting the Boboli Gardens in Florence, Italy. Especially the area in and around the Reflecting Pool at Maclay Gardens. Diana and Tyler were so down-to-earth, very laid back and easy going. We took our time, most of the time I was photographing them just as they spoke with and interacted, undirected, with each other.
