The great thing about custom wedding invitations is that not only will the design be unique to you, but the wording can be tailored to fit you as a couple. Whether you want to have traditional, formal wording or you’re going for a more relaxed, modern vibe, here are wedding invitation wording examples to help guide you along the way.
Wedding invitations should always include the following elements, at a minimum. These key pieces of information quickly help invitees know who, when and where. So as your researching wedding invitation wording examples, be sure to include these things:
Couples Names
Center stage are the couples names. You may want a host line or an introductory line above the names. But your names should be the star and stand out most on a wedding invitation.
Date and Time
This is of course the second most important piece of information. The date and time of your wedding. How you choose to format it is up to you. You’ll see on the wedding invitation wording examples below, you can choose to spell out days, dates and numerals, or you can abbreviate or use actual numbers. That’s the beauty of custom, it’s totally up to you!
Location
While location may seem like a no brainer, you’d be surprised how often I have to remind couples to include this information in their invitation. I don’t often recommend adding the address to the invitation, but rather putting the full information on a separate Details card. However, I do have some couples who only want one piece of stationery, and in those situations we do include it.
With those key elements in mind, check out the two wedding invitation suites below to see how they chose to format their wording.
