Any reason to get to the beach, I’m game. Photographing a beach wedding there? Yes, please! When Amanda, with A Beautiful Wedding in Florida, said Courtney and Taylor needed St George Island wedding photography, I was personally and professionally excited! This intimate beach ceremony was extra special because it was monarch butterfly migration season! See below for some amazing photos.
St George Island Wedding Photography
This wasn’t my first time photographing a wedding on St George Island. But this was the first one that was a midday ceremony. And let me just say, I LOVE the light during this time of day on the Island. Usually couples choose sunset beach ceremonies. But don’t sleep on this midday timing. Absolutely stunning beach colors!
Crystal, along with her dad, built and installed their stunning arbor. It was so perfect. The colors of the wood and the flowers. They did such a great job. Getting an arbor to be sturdy during windy St George Island wedding ceremonies is no easy feat.
Florida Beach Wedding
The most lovely, unexpected surprise during their wedding were the migrating monarch butterflies. I was able to capture a handful of them passing through in my St George Island wedding photography. At weddings, butterfly releases can symbolize love, hope, and beauty. How perfect is that?
I will never forget seeing hundreds of butterflies floating around over the ocean and across the beach. On their way to warmer weather even further south. It’s such a sight to see. And one that’s hard to capture in photos in a way that really shows how many there were. On top of the butterflies, as we were walking away after everything was done, a pod of dolphins popped up. It truly was a magical day for a Florida beach wedding.
Thanks again to Amanda, with A Beautiful Wedding in Florida, for bringing us together to make Crystal and Taylor’s intimate beach wedding photography a possibility.
